Find your ancestorsA third person has been arrested by gardaí investigating the shooting of a motorcycle patrol officer in Dublin three months ago.
The 30-year-old man was arrested in north inner city Dublin yesterday in relation to the shooting of Garda Paul Sherlock on September 25th. He is being held at Whitehall Garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 1939.
Another man and a woman arrested in Clondalkin on Sunday in relation to the incident remain in Garda custody at Store Street and Mountjoy stations.
Garda Sherlock (34) was on duty on Ossory Road in Dublin when he pulled over car he knew to be stolen. One of the men travelling in the car got out and shot him once in the stomach.
The men then drove towards West Road and abandoned the car in St Barnabas Gardens before fleeing in a white van.
