Fri 03 Mar 2007Foster tops poll in Fermanagh-South TyroneFermanagh-South Tyrone:Arlene Foster, who switched from the UUP to the DUP after the last Assembly election, has topped the poll in Fermanagh-South Tyrone.Ms Foster polled 2,200 more votes than when she was elected as a UUP MLA for the same constituency in 2003. This time, Ms Foster finished just ahead of Sinn Féin's Michelle Gildernew, who was also elected on the first count. Sitting UUP MLA Thomas Elliott was elected on Ms Foster's transfers, having been just over 30 votes short on the first count.
