Thu 08 Aug 2006Department rejects plans for 'green' cementThe Department of the Environment has refused to support Office of Public Works (OPW) proposals on the use of environmentally friendly cement in public building projects.Documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show the department made its opposition clear after a meeting at which cement industry representatives vigorously opposed the proposals.
