Wed 05 May 2004Pre-teens pressured to take grinds to secure second-level placesParents are paying between €20 and €30 an hour on grinds for children as young as 11 to ensure they get the secondary school place they want, a parents' lobby group has said.In a sign of the increasing exam pressures placed on pre-teens, the National Parents' Council (primary) said some parents were seeking extra tuition for their children before second-level assessment exams.
