Tue 11 Nov 2002Army commander gave 'inaccurate' information to Widgery inquiryThe man who commanded the British army on Bloody Sunday said yesterday he unknowingly gave "inaccurate" information to the original inquiry into the shootings.Maj Gen Patrick MacLellan, a brigadier and commander of 8th brigade in January 1972, told the inquiry that his orders had been breached, but that there was no cover-up launched to hide that fact.
