Thu 11 Nov 2002Iraq resolution does not mean war - CowenThere is no automatic trigger for military action in the latest UN Security Council draft resolution on Iraq, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Cowen, has insisted.He told the Dáil last night that "we are trying to avert war". The Minister stressed that the draft resolution was still a draft and the Government was concerned to ensure that "there will be no recourse to force, provided that Iraq complies with its obligations under the charter".
