FORMER EU commissioner Pádraig Flynn paid the Revenue Commissioners in 1998 almost £23,000 in gift tax owed on the £50,000 donation given to him in 1989 by Luton-based developer Tom Gilmartin after it became public, the Mahon tribunal was told yesterday.
