Fri 02 Feb 2002State spent over €23,000 hiring a jet to deport Algerian pairThe Government spent over €23,000 hiring a private jet to deport two Algerian men, the Minister for Justice confirmed yesterday.The jet was chartered in January after one of the men made a bomb threat on a commercial flight about to take off from Dublin Airport, Mr O'Donoghue told the Dáil yesterday. The two men were returned to Algeria on the private aircraft at a cost of €23,495, accompanied by five gardaí.
