Wed 09 Sep 2006Ahern to face Dail questions over €50,000 loan not repaidTaoiseach Bertie Ahern will face a Dáil onslaught today from the Opposition, after he acknowledged last night that he has not repaid any of a €50,000 loan given to him by businessmen in 1993 and 1994.The money from the 12-strong group, who he described as long-time friends, was used to pay costs surrounding his marital separation, including legal bills.
