Find your ancestorsTHREE BUSINESSMEN and a businesswoman are being sued over their alleged failure to complete a €6 million land deal in Co Leitrim. The proceedings were entered into the list of the Commercial Court this week by Mr Justice Peter Kelly.
Michael H Burke, of Oranmore, Loughrea, Co Galway, and Arthur Dolan, a doctor and businessman, of Canon's Hill, Mohill, Co Leitrim, have brought their action against three Co Roscommon businessmen - Gerry Connellen, of Ballinameen, French Park; Joe Doherty, the Maples, Strokestown; and Kieran Caslin, Vesnoy, Strokestown - and Lisa Doyle, a businesswoman and solicitor, of Edenderry, Co Offaly.
The case arises from an alleged written agreement of July 16th, 2007. The plaintiffs claim the defendants agreed to buy lands at Treanmore, Mohill, for €6 million.
They are seeking orders requiring specific performance of the agreement. It is contended that despite repeated requests by the plaintiffs' solicitors, the defendants have failed to complete the agreement or to take any steps in that regard.
