Green Paper on pensions

Main issues:

• Possible reform of the social welfare pension
• Introduction of a mandatory pension system
• Introduction of an SSIA-type fund-matching approach to incentivise voluntary pension investment
• Amending requirement that most pension savers buy an annuity upon retirement
• Possible reform of public-sector pensions for future entrants
• Adjustment to the operation of the funding standard
