Boy (15) dies after being struck by lightning

A 15-year-old boy who was struck by lightning in Dublin yesterday has died.

The boy was walking on a green space in Tallaght when he was hit by a bolt of lightning at about 4.30pm.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was treated for injuries to the left side of his head.

A Tallaght Hospital spokeswoman said the boy never regained consciousness, and died in the early hours of this morning.
