Find your ancestorsThe body of a 20-year-old man missing from his Co Longford home since last February was found in Co Galway this afternoon.
Michael Hughes from Farragh, Killoe, was recovered near Oranmore following a planned search of marshlands at around 1pm.
He was last seen at a bar on Eyre Square in nearby Galway city at around 1.45am on Wednesday February 20th.
The cause of death has not yet been established but gardai are not treating the matter as suspicious at this time.
Mr Hughes, a student at the University of Limerick, was in the city on a short break with friends.
The
Galway Advertiser reported that around 50 of Mr Hughes’s student friends assisted in a search when it was discovered he was missing.
