Couple found dead in Roscommon

An elderly couple were found dead in their Co Roscommon home last night, it has emerged.

The 76-year-old woman and her husband (67) were discovered by gardai who received a call expressing concern for the welfare of the couple at around 10pm.

Local gardai went to the couple’s home at Knockvicar, between Carrick-on Shannon and Boyle, where they made the discovery.

A post mortem is being carried out at Galway University Hospital. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
