A garda investigation has begun to establish the circumstances in which a man received serious injuries.
The 42-year-old man was taken to Kerry General Hospital from a house at Upper Rock Street in Tralee early this morning.
His condition is described as critical.
Gardaí are trying to determine if the man received his injuries as a result of a fall or if he was assaulted.
