Find your ancestorsGardaí are continuing to questioned a man over the death of a woman in Kilkenny on Saturday.
Lorraine White (42) died during surgery after she was admitted to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny with major internal injuries on Saturday morning.
It is believed Ms White had been beaten and repeatedly stabbed in her abdomen and her lower body at her home on Bridge Street, Callan, Co Kilkenny.
The man was arrested in Cahir, Co Tipperary, last night.
Deputy State Pathologist Michael Curtis carried out a postmortem yesterday.
