Fyffes chief executive moving to VHI

Dublin-based Fruit distributor Fyffes today said CEO Jimmy Tolan has resigned to move to VHI Healthcare.

Fyffes said that executive chairman David McCann will temporarily assume the CEO's role.

Mr Tolan, who took over the position in January 2007, has been a member of the Fyffes management team since he joined the company in 1990 and has been CEO for 12 months.

His resignation will take effect on April 30th, and Mr Tolan will continue as a non-executive director.

At 1.15pm Fyffes shares were down 1 cent at €0.93.
