- 22:16 Air traffic controllers (ATCs) are to meet tomorrow to consider a Labour Court recommendation issued this evening aimed at ending a dispute which last week threatened to close down the State's main airports.Impact trade union which represents the approximately 100 ATCs at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports, said the recommendation contained "some positive elements" but that a meeting with the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) would be needed tomorrow to discuss a timescale for the recruitment staff. The development follows agreement yesterday on cost-cutting plan at Aer Lingus subject to a ballot of Siptu's 1,800 members at the airline.

- 19:07 A man has been arrested following an assault in Dublin on Saturday evening which led to the death of a man in hospital today. Gardai renewed their appeal for public assistance after confirming that one of two men stabbed on Benbulbin Road, Drimnagh, at 6.50pm had died. The investigation was elevated to a murder inquiry today following the death of the man in his late 20s.
