- 15:29 A man is being questioned by gardai today in relation to the murder of Waterford mother-of-one Margaret Walsh ten weeks ago. The 40-year-old was arrested in the city earlier today in connection with the ongoing investigation into the death. Ms Walsh's body was discovered at Meagher's Quay in Waterford on Sunday, October 15th, two weeks after she disappeared. A post-mortem examination showed the 35-year-old died from severe trauma injuries to the upper body. Ms Walsh, who was known as Meg, lived at Ballinakill Downs with her husband.
- 12:39 German police have found traces of radiation in two buildings linked to a Russian businessman who met the murdered ex-spy Alexander Litvinenko on the day he fell ill, a spokeswoman said today.
- 11:23 A fire at a Moscow drug clinic today killed 45 women patients and staff who were prevented from escaping by metal grilles, emergency services said. Arson was the likely cause of the fire, officials said.
