19:27 A man has died in a Kilkenny hospital after being after he was shot during a raid on a post office in the city this afternoon. The shooting happened when a man in his 20s entered the post office in John's Green just off John Street at 12.10pm brandishing a hand gun. A male member of staff was shot, and the armed robber fled with a sum of money. A man was arrested a short time later and a firearm and sum of money were recovered. He is being detained at Kilkenny Garda station
