    15:10 Two sisters found guilty of killing their mother's boyfriend were sentenced to long jail terms by the Central Criminal Court today. Charlotte Mulhall (23) from Tallaght was found guilty in October of murdering Kenyan Farah Swaleh Noor in March 2005 and has been sentenced to life in jail. Her sister, Linda Mulhall (31), a mother of four, also from Tallaght, was found guilty of manslaughter and has been jailed for 15 years. Sentencing the women at Dublin Central Criminal Court, Mr Justice Paul Carney said the case was the most grotesque of killings that had occurred within his professional lifetime.
  • Traveller shot dead as he fled, trial told

    21:18 A Co Mayo farmer shot a Traveller dead as he fled from his land, a court heard today. Padraig Nally also beat his victim severely, the jury was told. The 62-year-old from Claremorris, is charged with the manslaughter of John 'Frog' Ward, a father-of-11, on October 14th, 2004. Mr Nally has pleaded not guilty.
