Bush and Blair see 'vital role' for UN in future Iraq
11:23 US President George W Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair have endorsed a "vital role" for the UN in Iraq and called for world unity. "We are of course agreed, as we say in our joint statement, that there will be a vital role for the United Nations in the reconstruction of Iraq," Mr Blair told a news conference at his summit meeting with Mr Bush in Hillsborough.

US forces kill three journalists in Baghdad
14:02 US forces in Baghdad are insisting the three journalists they killed today died because the buildings they were in were legitimate targets.
