Mon 08 Aug 2001Booby-trapped toy kills Basque woman, blinds infantA booby-trapped toy car exploded in northern Spain today, killing a woman and blinding her 16-month-old grandson, but officials said the blast did not appear to be the work of the Basque separatist group ETA.Nine hours after the explosion, the regional Basque government said in a statement that a metallic recipient holding explosives, probably gunpowder, had been concealed inside the toy and primed to blow up when it was switched on.
