Valentine’s Day at Cork Opera House

3rd February 2012

Cork Opera House has put together a special programme full of Valentine’s Day delights especially for you and yours this February 14th.

‘Let There Be Love’ is sure to be a full-on celebration of Cupid’s big day, promising a marvellous miscellany of great love songs, tango, the most popular love scenes from your favourite films, blind dates, speed-dating, orchestras, choirs, dance and live proposals.

This Valentine’s Day extravaganza features a number of both local and national acts, including comedy duo Trevor Ryan and Declan Wolfe, the West Cork Ukulele Orchestra, The Roaring Forties, acclaimed soprano Linda Kenny, and many more. There will be speed-dating at the interval, and a disco in the bar to round the night off.

From February 2nd, a ‘truth booth’ will be set up in Cork Opera House foyer. You are invited to pop in and record messages for your loved ones, some of which will be broadcast live onstage during the event. Messages can be romantic or platonic, serious or silly, just make sure you record yours if you stop by to book tickets in person.

Cork Opera House is also looking for someone who’s ready to pop the question, and in a grand fashion. One person – guy or gal – will be given the opportunity to propose live on stage as part of the Valentine’s Day event. And you decide how you do it. Get in touch with Sinead Dunphy on +353 21 490 5274 for more information.

So Grab your sweetheart or wrangle a group of friends and make a night of it this Valentine’s Day. ‘Let There Be Love’ at Cork Opera House takes place Tuesday, February 14th at 8.00pm. Tickets are €21.00. To book, click HERE.
