This retrospective exhibition was instigated by the F.E. McWilliam Gallery & Studio, Banbridge in celebration of Blackshaw reaching the age of 80 and presents a diverse range of works from throughout the artist’s long career. Blackshaw has stressed that the way something is painted is more important to him than the subject matter; ‘It’s the painting! All I am interested in is what happens on the canvas.’
