The Irish Film Institute, Eustace Street, Temple Bar, Dublin, will present a diverse programme of films relating to Beckett's work and will co-ordinate a tour of the line-up to cinemas around the country - as well as providing a schools' screenings and discussion forum

Prisonniers de Beckett
( Prisoners of Beckett) In a high-security prison in Sweden an actor decides to direct Waiting for Godot with five prisoners as actors. Their acting proves to be so authentic that Beckett follows the rehearsal from Paris, and the prison authorities grant the actors the right to play in a Gothenburg theatre house. Apr 14, 5pm

American film maker DA Pennebaker (famed for his Bob Dylan documentary Don't Look Back) made this film for the BBC's Arena. Apr 14, 5pm

Samuel Beckett: As the Story Was Told
Seán Ó Mordha's film focuses on Beckett's life, friends and colleagues. It explores the traumas of his formative years including his service with the French Resistance and relationship with Joyce. Apr 15, 2.30pm

Waiting for Godot
Starring Zero Mostel and Burgess Meredith, it is directed by Alan Schneider (1961). Also being shown is Film, Beckett's original 20-minute, almost totally silent film in which Buster Keaton attempts to evade observation by an all-seeing eye. Directed by Alan Schneider in 1965. Apr 15, noon

Directing Beckett: Krapp's Last Tape, Eh Joe, Catastrophe, Play, Come and Go Krapp's Last Tape
An old man reviews his life and assesses his predicament. Screen version directed by Atom Egoyan. Eh Joe Joe, an old man is haunted by the voice of his dead wife as he sits alone in his bedsit. With Tom Hickey and Siobhan McKenna. Directed by Alan Gilsenan. Catastrophe Written in French in 1982. This screen version directed by David Mamet. Play From each of three urns, a head protrudes - a man and two women. Each character bitterly narrates the story of their role in a love triangle. Directed by Anthony Minghella. Come and Go Three women meet and sit on a bench facing the audience and reminisce. Each woman leaves the stage briefly, and during each absence an appalling secret is whispered about the third.
