Located in The Good Things Café in the small village of Durrus, County Cork, this cookery school overlooks the sea and is the perfect place for personal, fun and practical cookery classes.
The Good Things Cafe is so much more than a Cookery School. It is also a café, a restaurant and offers a catering service to help take the stress out of hosting a dinner party or even just for a break from the kitchen.
Students can choose from morning, afternoon, weekend and week long courses in a variety of subjects. A Dozen Fast Funky Dishes, One Day Baking, The 5 ½ Day Kitchen Miracle Programme and The Fishy Vegetarian are just a few of the courses on offer.
The class sizes are kept to a maximum of eight students to ensure personal tuition and a fun and friendly learning environment.
Proprietor and teacher Carmel Somers is a self confessed obsessive when it comes to locally produced ingredients and everything, apart from the olive oil, which they import from Spain, is sourced from West Cork.
The Good Things Café also has a small shop, which sells cookery books, utensils and specialized ingredients, such as stem ginger, Belvoir elderflower and Spanish saffron.
