A-B. Starting from the mapboard at Ballinagleragh Church follow the purple (and res) arrows onto the lane which takes you by a stone shed to the left of Mulvey’s Public House and shop. The red arrows are for the shorter St Brigid’s Loop. [Note that you are also overlapping with the Leitrim Way – marked with the familiar yellow walking man and arrows.] Continue to follow this lane for over 2km to reach a junction with the R207. Take care as you join the road – turn right and walk on the right. Continue for 300m to reach a junction with the L8295. Turn right here.

B-C. Continue to follow the red and purple for over 2km to reach a junction with a forestry roadway on your left. The St Brigid’s Loop (red arrows) continues straight here – but you turn left.

C-D. The loop now starts an ascent along forestry roads through the townlandof Urbal Barr. After 1.5km you turn right onto an old laneway and descend via fields to regain a surfaced roadway where you turn right. After 500m at a two storey house the loop trns sharp right and 200m later re-joins the red loop at a T-junction. Turn left here.

D-A. Continue to follow the purple and red arrows for 500m to a T-junction where you turn right. Enjoy the next 500m as the loop returns to the trailhead.
