Bounce! Arts Festival showcases some of very best work around by disabled and deaf writers, directors, actors, musicians and visual artists. It suits anyone with an open mind and an interest in seeing challenging, entertaining and diverse new contemporary arts work.
This year's line-up features the intimate 'If these Spasms Could Speak' from Scottish performer/director Robert Softly Gale; 'One of Us Will Die' a bold comedy from Kiruna Stamell and Gareth Berliner; and 'Let Me Stay' from Julie McNamara, a positive, tender and humorous piece about life with Alzheimer's. Local companies, Streetwise and KIC/Blue Chevy, are making new work and 'Pirate and Parrot' is for young audiences. In the ADF Gallery the festival show is 'Evidence of Payment' a show exploring disability history as represented in postage stamps from the collection of Dr Paul Darke.
The name Bounce! is about resilience and bouncing back in hard times - with pleasure, excitement, challenge and a sense of fun!
The festival is known for great disability access and most of the shows have audio description and captions or BSL. Access queries to the ADF: firstname.lastname@example.org or 028 9023 9450.
