This exhibition celebrates the life, work and legacy of John Hewitt by attempting to create wider access to his work; increase participation in the cultural traditions of Ulster; and facilitate in the learning of Ulster writing. It has been created by Frank Ferguson, Kathryn White and John McMillan from the University of Ulster in partnership with Tony Kennedy from the John Hewitt Society and Helen Perry from the Causeway Museum Service.
Public Launch at PRONI

PRONI is keeper of the John Hewitt Archive (PRONI Ref. D3838) and is delighted to welcome this excellent exhibition which will go on display in their atrium space directly below their large-scale reproduction of Hewitt's Ulster Names.
Members of the public are invited to this launch in which curators Frank Ferguson and Kathryn White will talk through the story of the exhibition. Frank and Kathryn are also co-editors of Hewitt's manuscript autobiography, A North Light, and will steer you through the revelations teased out through this research. A special poetry reading shall also follow, as well as a presentation from a member of PRONI's curatorial staff on the Hewitt Papers.
