Slane Castle is a picturesque and famous castle, located in the midst of a huge estate in the heart of the Boyne Valley. Only twenty-five minutes from Dublin Airport, it holds the annual Slane Concert event within its grounds.

Slane Castle is a beautiful turreted castle in County Meath, one of the most picturesque and historic buildings in Ireland. The building displays the collective talents of some of Ireland and England’s most distinguished architects, while the extensive parklands were laid out by the distinguished landscape architect, Capability Brown.

Set on the grounds of a 1,500 acre estate through which flows the River Boyne – a few kilometres upstream from the site of the Battle of the Boyne – Slane Castle is the residence of one of Ireland’s most famous aristocrats, Henry Conyngham, Earl of Mount Charles.

Slane Castle prides itself on the services that it offers to visitors to the Boyne Valley. The staff are one of the estate's greatest assets - with historical Tour Guides available for tours over the summer season.

The Slane Castle Whiskey Tasting Tour is just one of the features that visitors to the castle can enjoy. On the tour, guests will be met at the front steps of the castle and introduced to their personal tour guide. They will have the chance to both visit the castle and enjoy a tutored tasting of a range of Irish whiskeys including Slane Irish Whiskey, produced at the Slane Distillery.

Slane Castle hosts many high profile events during the year, from its famous Slane summer concerts (with a capacity of 80,000 people), to more intimate events inside the castle. Set against the stunning backdrop of the River Boyne and the surrounding parkland of the Estate, it’s an unmissable destination on any tour of the Boyne Valley.

2017 Opening dates to be confirmed. It is advised to contact the property directly prior to making arrangements to visit.
