Clonleason Gate Lodge is a luxury self-catering cottage overlooking parkland near Athboy, County Meath. This one bedroom cottage is situated in the heart of the Boyne Valley and offers a very high degree of charm and comfort.
Clonleason Gate Lodge is a luxury, self-catering, country cottage retreat for two people. It is at the entrance to a small Georgian farmhouse and overlooks lovely mature parkland near Navan and Kells, County Meath. Clonleason Gate Lodge is perfect for long or short breaks at any time of year, with an open fireplace for winter and sunny rose garden for summer.
Included in a 2009 Sunday Times article entitled '50 Cool Cottages in England and Ireland', the lodge has three pretty rooms furnished with guest's comfort in mind. The bright sitting room has an open fireplace, good furniture and loads of books. French doors lead to a sunny terrace, private garden, babbling stream and lovely country views. Roses and honeysuckle abound. The double bedroom is decorated in crisp green and white cotton and has a double bed with goose down duvet and electric blanket. The ensuite shower room is finished in white marble. The kitchen with pretty French wallpaper has all the necessary cooking facilities including dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and cooker. There is a cosy eating area by the window. Quality sheets and towels are provided, as well as logs and coal.
Clonleason Gate Lodge is situated in the heart of the Boyne Valley, just 5km from the village of Athboy, 11km from historic Kells and an easy 90 minute drive to Dublin or Dublin Airport. Lovely walks including the Girley Eco Bog and the great archaeological sites of Loughcrew, Trim and Newgrange are within reach.
