Drumshanbo famous for its musical tradition and its unique high street fronted by a stone wall, with steps leading up to Ireland’s shortest main street. For those seeking adventure, head to Ballinaglera and the Lough Allen Adventure Centre. Dowra is a walker’s paradise as The Miners, Leitrim and Cavan Way all meander through this area. The abbey in Tarmon which stands in ruins amidst graves and tombstones was founded by the O’Rourke family.
