Overlooking the cobbled courtyard of historic Kilkenny Castle, Kilkenny Design Centre has a daytime restaurant, a foodhall and an evening restaurant from Thursday to Saturday.
The daytime restaurant is a relaxing and inspiring place to indulge in our delicious, freshly made hot and cold lunches.Once you have savoured the seafood chowder with homemade soda bread, or sampled our speciality chicken and broccoli crumble made with local award-winning Lavistown Cheese, we defy you not to try one of our selection of fantastic desserts - a real favourite with our regulars! A chilled glass of white wine will complete the experience.
We pride ourselves on the quality and variety of our food and one of Ireland's most respected food writers, Georgina Campbell, deemed our food "worth travelling for".
Since its re-opening in February 2012 the foodhall has provided a haven for Kilkenny's coffee lovers, serving fair trade/organic flavoured coffees, herbal teas and freshly-made sweet and savoury treats in a beautiful and historic setting with free wifi!
We also stock a carefully-selected range of artisan food products such as Mileeven honey, Goatsbridge Trout, fantastic chutneys and jams from Janet's Country Fayre and Pandora Bell's colourful traditional sweets and lollipops.
Regular tasting events take place on Saturday afternoons and are often hosted by the producers themselves, be it Knockdrinna cheese, Inistiogue Food chutneys or Lavistown sausages.
