The Sheen River flows into the head of Kenmare Bay in County Kerry. It is primarily a salmon fishery; the sea trout run being less prolific. It holds spring salmon from March and the grilse arrive in June.

The Sheen River rises in Kerry’s Caha Mountains and flows north for around 13 miles before entering the sea at Kenmare Bay. It has a reasonable run of spring salmon from March and the run of grilse arrives in mid June and continues into late July with a further run of big salmon in late season. It is very much a spate river which is subject to flooding.
