Matz at the g offers an extensive Irish menu with a European influence, inspired by the use of local, seasonal produce. The hotel has won many awards, including the title of Best Hotel in Connaught at the inaugural Irish Travel Consumer Awards 2009. Stephen Matz was named best chef in Connaught 2009 at the Santa Rita/Life magazine Irish Restaurants Awards 2009. Meanwhile ESPA at the g Therapist Irene Kenning was named best spa therapist at the prestigious Irish Beauty Professional Association awards in 2009.
