The Irish Museum of Modern Art, housed in the magnificent 17th century Royal Hospital building in Kilmainham Dublin, is an artistic gem with its extensive collection of modern and contemporary art.
The Irish Museum of Modern (IMMA) Art is Ireland's leading national institution for the collection and presentation of modern and contemporary art and is the home of the National Collection.
In addition to the collection IMMA presents a dynamic and changing programme of exhibitions from Irish and International Artists, and complimentary education and family programmes throughout the year including a dynamic Talks programme and the IMMA studio and national programmes.
The Museum is housed in the 17th century Royal Hospital building in Kilmainham, Dublin, whose beautiful grounds include a formal garden, meadow and medieval burial grounds.
During your visit don’t forget to check out the IMMA shop and the Itsa Café, both located in the original crypts of the RHK. IMMA is conveniently located close to the Luas Red line/Heuston Station and is served by several tourist bus services.
Most exhibitions at IMMA are free of charge, unless otherwise indicated. Facilities include a café, bookshop and free guided tours of exhibitions IMMA is wheelchair accessible with adapted toilets and set down areas for easy access. There are also baby changing facilities and locker rooms.
