Martello Tower at Magilligan, one of 74 constructed on the island, was built between 1812 and 1817 to guard against a possible Napoleonic invasion. Come and see one of the few intact towers left in Ireland with its cannon platform and quarters for 13 men and learn about its history, design and use.
It also provides a suitable vantage point to view its twin tower across the Foyle estuary in Co. Donegal and the Magilligan Point Nature Reserve.
