Lowry's Lake is a favourite with members and visitors. The lake is stocked regularly and due to location fished hard. The trout become educated and a thoughtful approach is required success. Hotspots are Kildarton Shore and The Ramper area on the West side of the lake. Wading is not advisable on the East side due to deep water and sudden drop offs. Access is good, the whole perimeter of the lake can be walked and car parking is available. Most seasons' browns of 7-8Ib are caught, along with many fish in the 3-5Ib category. There is a bag limit of six trout even if all are returned, and a size limit of 12 inches, the lake is fly fishing only.

A DCAL licence is required (£17). Armagh Angling Club permits are £15 per day (4 fish limit) or £100 per season (£120 for new members), Junior members £20.
