Brú Chlann Lír offers the perfect getaway for anglers, with two charter boats, the Nóirín Bán and Fionnula. Anglers have the choice of fishing inside the shelter of Blacksod bay, especially famous for tope, monkfish and rays, but also for gurnards to record size, huss, flatfish and cod.

The pinnacle of the lighthouse at Blackrock rises 82m sheer from the sea and is home to multi coloured cod, pollock, coalfish and ling, all to specimen size.

Hunt sharks, blues and porbeagles on the reefs and banks between Blackrock, Achill Head and the little island of Duvillaun Mor. Both the Irish blue and porbeagle records were taken off Achill and its said the mighty moko roams these waters come autumn.
