The Certificate of Irish Heritage programme was launched by the Irish Government in Autumn 2011 to provide official recognition to those who are proud of their Irish ancestors and their own Irish heritage. It is located in Killorglin, County Kerry.
Anyone with an Irish ancestor, born outside of Ireland is eligible for a Certificate of Irish Heritage. It officially recognises one’s Irish ancestry and the significant contribution made worldwide by the Irish Diaspora over the years.
Each certificate is unique and personalised, in the form of a beautiful print with the holder's name, their ancestor's name, year and county of birth. Customers can honour up to two ancestors. There is a choice of designs and the certificate can be purchased framed, or unframed. It is very easy to apply for a certificate, customers just need to have an ancestor’s document such as a census record, marriage, death or birth certificate and log on to their web site. There is an experienced team on hand to help should there be any difficulties in finding an ancestor’s document. Certificates make ideal gifts with great discounts for multiple purchases.
