Overlooking Bangor Marina, this family-run hotel is probably the best known landmark on Bangor’s seafront. Having been granted planning permission in June 2011 for a new state-of-the-art 52 bedroom hotel the current Royal Hotel has been down-sized and now trades as the Windsor Inn. Featuring 16 ensuite bedrooms, bar, restaurant, nightclub, walled beer garden and a choice of function rooms. Within walking distance of Bangor and Carnalea Golf Clubs, and only a short drive to many other courses including Rory McIlroy's own Holywood club. Fishing, diving and birdwatching trips can be organised. The Windsor Inn and Bangor are the perfect location to enjoy coastal walks all along the County Down coast, the scenery of the Ards Peninsula and the rugged beauty of the North Coast with the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Bushmills' Distillery and Royal Portrush Golf Club. To the south and the Mournes with Royal County Down Golf Course, Tollymore Forest Park and Spelga Dam. National Trust properties abound such as Mount Stewart and Scrabo Tower. The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, the North Down Museum, and the Wetland Trust's, Castle Espie. There is so much on our doorstep!
