An Portán is a modern purpose built guesthouse located in Dunquin, 16 kilometres west of the town of Dingle on the Dingle Way walking route and on the Slea Head Drive, between the mountains and the sea. The guesthouse is also situated just a 5-10 minute walk from both the Blasket Island Ferry.

An Portán boasts 14 bedrooms with a double and single bed in each room. Rooms have TV, radio, telephone and tea- and coffee-making facility. All rooms are ensuite. Situated well back from the road, An Portán ensures you have peace and quiet for a good night's rest.

An Portán's restaurant offers our guests fresh local produce which is cooked to order and we also offer an extensive breakfast menu to our guests. Our coffee shop is open throughout the day and offers lunches and snacks. Cole Merton of the English Independent newspaper stated “The food laid out before us was a marvel”. Early booking is advisable during peak season. The restaurant carries a varied and well-chosen wine list, spirits, draught Guinness and lager.

Piled high with mountains and fringed with quiet unpolluted beaches, this colourful holiday destination is a haven for walkers, golfers, surfers, sailors, sightseers and deep-sea fishermen. This is a Gaeltacht with something for everyone on Europe's final western frontier.
