The city of Derry-Londonderry has a big year ahead. It has just months to squeeze in all the festivals, gigs, musicals, plays and special events it has planned for its reign as UK City of Culture 2013
In every corner of the city, along the Peace Bridge and through the historic Ebrington Barracks – Derry-Londonderry is buzzing.
Huge events are set to shake the city this year. There’s a bounty of firsts in store, including the Turner Prize and the Royal Ballet coming to town, and the sweet sounds of the Fleadh Cheoil, Other Voices and Teenage Kicks: A Punk Musical. In between these big hitters are hundreds of other events, from plays to matches, gigs to exhibitions.
"But how" you cry, "do I keep track of them all?"
That’s where City of Culture News comes in. This regular online nugget of novelties, presented by Jane Veitch, promises to keep you abreast of what’s on, who’s going, and why you should be there. It’s snappy, too. You’ll have all the info in under three minutes.
