Michael Collins (1890-1922), Irish revolutionary and chairman of the Provisional Government, was born on 16 October 1890 at Woodfield, Clonakilty, County Cork.
See the ruins of Michael Collins' home for the first nine or ten years of his life and the outline of the new house to which the family moved later. The new house was burnt down by the Black and Tans in 1921.
