The Songs and Stories of The Dubliners is a spellbinding performance of – and tribute to – the music of Ireland’s most successful folk band, The Dubliners, by musical group The Liberties.
Using the first line-up of The Dubliners – Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, Barney McKenny, Ciarán Burke, and John Sheahan – as the basis for this show, the band employs all the same instrumentation and arrangements as the original band did to perform The Dubliners’ classic songs.
Wayne Wilder takes the role of Ronnie Drew and sounds incredibly similar to Drew’s own voice, while banjo maestro James Gallagher both looks and sounds every inch a Luke Kelly doppelgänger.
Whether it’s Black Velvet Band, McAlpine’s Fusiliers, The Irish Rover or Seven Drunken Nights, you’ll be sure to be hear all of The Dubliners’ greatest tunes on this special, fun-filled night.
