For one of their monthly concerts each year – their Spring Gala – Kaleidoscope Night ups sticks from Bello Bar to the more salubrious surroundings of The Sugar Club. This year’s gala concert will be their 110th concert since the series began in 2009.
On the programme for this special night are an arrangement of Astor Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by Katherine Hunka of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, and Simon O’Connor’s song cycle, Left Behind: Songs of the 1916 Widows performed by O’Connor with vocalist Michelle O’Rourke and the Panoramic Quartet. There is also going to be an eight-piece jazz super-group led by percussionist Conor Guilfoyle, one of the leading names of the local jazz scene.
This promises to be a night where the Kaleidoscope team will really push the boat out with an extra-special musical programme of variety and quality.
