County Meath is known as the Royal County and derives its name from the Second Century AD as a territory for the High Kings.
Dowth is an ancient passage tomb that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bru Na Boinne Megalithic Cemetery. It is located in County Meath, near Drogheda. About 5,000 years old, Dowth had two burial chambers and a ritual basin.
