Hazel Fort is a stone farmhouse on a working visitor farm, in County Kerry. At this self catering house, pony riding and angling are included in the price, as is the company of a number of border collies, a family of goats and a pot-bellied pig.
Hazel Fort Farm offers a choice of two comfortable, fully furnished, self catering guest homes with complete kitchen facilities. Located on the scenic premises of George Kelly’s 50-acre farm, each private residence features its own unique and spectacular view of the McGillycuddy Reeks.
Hazel Fort is a charming and cosy 19th Century stone farmhouse lovingly renovated in 1987 with the purpose of preserving the building’s original character. A comfortable living room with TV, internet access, stereo and books is a perfect place for a family to relax. The house is centrally heated and has a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, patio and barbeque. Open fires are permitted, but the owners regret that pets are not.
A peaceful river that borders the farm is a perfect place to walk and enjoy the lush beauty of Ireland. Or be amused by the family of goats, a pot bellied pig, a flock of white geese and the Kerry cow. Several friendly border collies, that owner George Kelly has bred, live on the farm and adore all of their human visitors. There are also many activities available on and around the farm such as pony rides and fishing. Ballymalis Castle is just a short walk from the farm.
