Suantra Cottages are three bedroom, self catering cottages set in an area of scenic and tranquil beauty at the tip of the Dingle Peninsula, a five minute walk from the sandy beach of Clogher overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
These three bedroom, self catering cottages are located in a spectacular part of Ireland at the very tip of Dingle Peninsula, overlooking lush green fields facing the Atlantic Ocean. To the west there is the beautiful Sybil Head, a very short walk takes one down to a beautiful sandy beach and connects with the Dingle Way.
Clogher Head, Dunmore Head, Mount Eagle, The Blasket Centre, Blasket Island and many more attractions are only a short drive away. The quaint fishing town of Dingle with award winning restaurants, quaint little shops and many pubs, where you can mix with the locals and enjoy the craic and traditional Irish music and song, is only a 20 minute drive from the cottages.
Suantra Cottages enjoy panoramic views and are ideal for hill and cliff walks, fishing, surfing, horse riding and golf. There is a big garden at the front of the cottages which are situated in the heart of the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht, a place where the Irish language is the spoken tongue, where traditions have been preserved, this is the real Ireland, where cattle graze peacefully by the sea and signs are in Irish.
You can see Mount Brendan from the cottages and if it's climbing you want, you will enjoy this which is only a 20 minute drive from cottage, also Martin Peak, on its slope the village from the film Ryan’s Daughter was built. In front of cottage is Sybil Head and the 3 sisters jutting into the sky, a lovely 5 minute walk in front of cottage will take you down to Cuas Naoa, a little cove where fishermen used to fish long ago in their little boats.
A short distance from the cottages is the beautiful Ceann Sibeal 18 links golf course, the area has the greatest concentration of archaeological sites in Ireland with such treasures as Kilmalkedar church, the Dun an Oir Fort of Gold, Gallarus Oratory which is shaped like an upturned boat and is the most perfectly preserved example of Irish architecture and many more. The wonderful heritage centre at Dunquin celebrates the lives of the Blasket islanders, their culture, literary talents and the Irish language, all these are on your door step.
Play a round of golf at Dingle Golf links, Europe's most westerly golf course deep in the heart of the Gaeltacht, the 18 hole golf links are only a 4 minute drive from the cottages with great views of the Blasket Island and Inish Tooskert or the Sleeping Giant.
Travel over Conor Pass, this is the highest pass in Ireland and provides spectacular views of the lakes. Dingle Harbour, Mount Brendan overlooking Lough Gill and Brandon Bay are all within a 30 minute drive. There are summer camps and summer schools to practice your Irish or learn same, sailing, windsurfing and boat trips to see Fungi the dolphin.
The property features three bedrooms, a dining room/kitchen, a living room with TV and open fireplace and a bathroom. Golf, shore and sea angling and mountain climbing are all available close by. There is also a launderette on site.
